Brent Ross
My memory of Aunt Donna begins with the times when Karen and I used to spend a number of summers on the farm in Arcadia, Utah. Karen would team up with Donna and I would follow Pard around like a puppy dog. Grandma Ross would give us some chores to do so we would learn how to work.....and we did learn how to work. One of my chores was feeding the chickens. There was an old rooster that used to chase me around the chicken coop. If we caught up to me, he would peck me on the back of the leg. Donna thought that it was funny and use to tease me about the old rooster. I thought to myself, "One day I'm going to get even with that rooster."...It could be that I did get even by going into the Kentucky Fried Chicken business.
Once in awhile, maybe I should say quite often, Pard enjoyed teasing Donna. Donna did not take it very well, to say the least. She would chase Pard all over the farm. I think that Pard would have been a lot shorter if Donna had caught up to him.
Donna and I have kept in touch over the years. Grandpa Ross' birthday was May 30th. My birthday followed on May 31st. Donna's birthday was next on June 1st. Donna would always send me a card or give me a call on my birthday. I gave her a call this past June and we had a good talk. Donna enjoyed remembering the "good old days" on the farm. That is the time when we all bonded doing the chores around the farm or sitting at the kitchen table eating some of grandma's famous cinnamon rolls.
Donna will be missed...but not forgotten.
