Donna Marie Smith Morgan's Obituary
In Loving Memory
Donna Marie Smith Morgan
April 30, 1946 – May 13, 2025
Donna Marie Smith Morgan, age 79, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2025, in Riverton, Utah, surrounded by her loving family. After a courageous battle, she made the decision — with strength and grace — to return home. She left this life on her terms, and now she is reunited with her eternal companion, William Edwards Morgan Jr., the love of her life. That thought brings us great peace.
Born in Cardston, Alberta, Canada, Donna was the daughter of Raymond Emery Smith and Eliza Betty Woolford Smith. She spent her early years in the Mormon Colonies before her family later settled in Sugarhouse, Utah.
She married William Edwards Morgan Jr. in the Logan Utah Temple and together they raised four children. Donna took her role as a mother seriously and was a loving and devoted mom. Her twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren brought her immense joy, and she cherished every moment she spent with them.
A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Donna found deep joy in gospel living. She served in the Jordan River Temple and later completed a family history mission alongside her husband. Her quiet but firm testimony was reflected in the way she lived—with compassion, strength, and enduring faith.
Donna worked for many years at Deseret Book Company, where she found great fulfillment. She also enjoyed collecting and creating dolls, a talent she inherited from her mother. Known for her kindness, patience, and faith, Donna leaves behind a legacy rooted in love for her Savior and her family.
She is survived by her children: Tammy Morgan Pilcher, William Edwards Morgan III, Matthew Morgan, and Heather Morgan, along with her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
