Doreen Helen Decker's Obituary
Doreen Helen Decker, age 89, died peacefully at home, surrounded by her many loved ones in Springville, Utah. Doreen was born March 07, 1928, in Luck, Wisconsin, and was the 6th of eight children born to Orin and Sadie Fosmo.
On March 24, 1945 in Long Beach California, Doreen married DeVearl C. Decker, having just returned a decorated soldier of World War II. Together, they began married life in Torrance CA and was baptized May 23, 1953 in the LDS Church. They later moved to Lake Sherwood, CA. The family was sealed in the Los Angeles Temple on June 19, 1971. They settled here in Utah in 1995.
In addition to raising their six children, Doreen also enjoyed gardening, painting, writing poetry, sketching, sewing, garage sales, hunting down antique treasures and spending time with her many grand/great grandchildren.
Doreen was a member of the Hobble Creek Third Ward and during her life served as Relief Society and Primary President and many other callings.
Doreen is survived by her husband, DeVearl C. Decker, her children Allen (Lana), Bruce (Charisse), Debbie Payne, Curtis, Florrie and Bonnie, 14 Grandchildren and 28 Great-Grandchildren. Also her older sister Jolette Gunderson and younger brother, Howard Fosmo.
She is preceded in death by her son Erin, son-in-law Eldon Payne, daughter-in-law Dorene, granddaughter Erika and grandson Douglas.
