Our sweet, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend passed away, joining her eternal companion, on Tuesday morning March 20, 2018. Doris was born on September 25, 1930 in Murray, Utah to Francis Lorenzo and Hazel Jennet Nelson.
She grew up in Crescent, Utah and graduated from Jordan High School. She married Ross E. Bergener on May 27, 1948 in the Salt Lake Temple. Doris’ greatest joy was her family and she devoted her energies to caring for them.
She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many church organizations including: Primary, Scouting, and Relief Society. She also worked in the Salt Lake Temple with her husband, Ross. Doris particularly enjoyed working on family history and did name extraction for many years. She enjoyed knitting and made hundreds of tiny baby booties for family, the Humanitarian Center and other needy organizations. Doris and her husband, Ross, served a mission together in the Pennsylvania Pittsburgh Mission from 1991 to 1993.
She is survived by her 8 children: Sharon (Ladd) Tanner, Ryan (Marilyn) Bergener, Susan (David) McEwan, Janet (Samuel) Camp, Kathryn (Rick) Hardman, Ruth Bergener, Paul (Julia) Bergener, and David (Hollie) Bergener. She has 27 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Doris is preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her sister, Jennet.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 6th, at 11:00 a.m. at the West Jordan Westbrook Stake Center, 4113 West 6200 South with a viewing from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to services. Online condolences may be left at www.premierfuneral.com.
