Dorothy B. Smith Olsen's Obituary
Dorothy B Smith Olsen, 90, passed away peacefully in her home of 65 years on October 29, 2018. Dorothy was born November 4, 1927 to Robert Huskinson Smith and Stella Lund Smith in Salt Lake City, Utah.
After graduating from East High School Dorothy went to work for the US Army, 9th Service Command, Intelligence Field Office at Fort Douglas Utah. This is where she met SID agent Corporal Dene Olsen when he would bring classified documents to the office to be stored in a vault.
Dorothy married Dene Martin Olsen on April 11, 1947. Solemnized January 1971 in the Salt Lake City Temple. Dorothy and Dene served as ordnance workers in the Salt Lake Temple faithfully twice a week for 40 years. Throughout her life Dorothy served diligently in many callings in the church she loved and with the PTA at her children’s school.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Rocky M Olsen; grandchildren Rocky M (Abigail) Olsen Jr, Cydne R Olsen: great grandchildren Patience, Bella and Rocky III, and many generations of nieces & nephews from her extended family. Dorothy was preceded in death by her daughter Tonya Lynne Olsen (age 19), husband Dene, brother Robert H Smith Jr, nephew Richard Duff Smith and her parents.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Tuesday, November 6, 2018 , at the Canyon Rim Second Ward, 3000 S Grace Street (3100 E) Salt Lake City, Utah.
A viewing will be held Monday for 6-8 P.M. and Tuesday 10:30-11:30 A.M. at that location. Internment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive
