I had had the privilege of working with Duane for a number of years at Uintah Basin Telephone. He had a brilliant mind, along with his natural curiosity of all things electronic. Those two things allowed him to have a front row seat as the company ushered in the worlds of cellular service and digital switching. At the company Christmas parties, Duane would treat us to his rendition of "The Cremation of Sam McGee". He once brought in his " Cartidige in a Bare Tree", which was a tree branch sprayed white with shotgun cartidiges hanging from it, which was his version of a Partridge in a Pear Tree. Then of course who could forget his odometer for his handcart. Allison, thank you for keeping me updated on your parents. May our Father Heaven give each of you peace and comfort as you mourn the loss of this noble and sweet man.
