Aunt Durene had the best sense of humor and an infectious laugh. What a blessing she was to have in our lives and how I wish that we could have been able to see all of the Hutchinson family more often.
Mrs Hutchinson babysat my sister and I when we were pre-schoolers. She was a great influence and always fun to be at her home. My memories were the excellent homemade bread she made almost daily, roller skating in the basement with her children around the food storage shelves, and her washing machine that had the old fashion rollers that she would warn us to never touch so we didn’t get hurt. The thing I always remember when thinking about your mother is her sense of humor and her sweetness. I'm sorry for your loss.
I added a picture of my Grandma and I taken about 5-6 years ago. I’ve always LOVED to tease my Grandma because she was the most feisty and loving person with the BEST annoyed eye roll I’ve ever known. This picture was taken after one of these numerous times. I found a hoodie in her closet and placed it on her head. She immediately grabbed it and rolled her eyes asking why I would do a stupid thing like that. I gave her some smart reply and placed it back on her head. She’s always been very stubborn, so every time I would put it on her head, she’d take it right off and sigh; however, I got my stubbornness from her, and was much younger with more energy, so I eventually wore her down to her famous surrendering phrase, “Whatever.” Of course at first she would act annoyed or bugged by my silliness, but her true feelings quickly revealed themselves, and that is when the photo was taken. This type of situation happened countless times throughout merely one day with her, and that was just with me — one of her MANY family members who all certainly had similar experiences. I love this photo because it reminds me of her beautiful life full of love, silliness, fun, and fake eye rolls. She will be dearly missed, but her life will live on in every life she has undoubtedly touched.
I have simply too many. I love you forever and always. Thank you so much for being my Grandma!
