Chief Simkins was one of the kindest and most compassionate men I have ever met.
I served with him in Desert Storm and found him to be exceedingly fair, honest and hard working.
I never took the time to thank him for his words of encouragement and exemplary example of quiet and diginfied strength.
I shall attempt to honor his memory by following his example of how to live a life of valor under ANY conditions.
My deepest condolences go out to those that were closest to him as I am sure he will be greatly missed.
If I remember him correctly I am sure he is busy at a new task as his work here is done....and it was done well!
