Earl "Don" Huisman's Obituary
Earl “Don” Huisman, age 75, passed away on August 28, 2024 in Ogden, Utah. Born on September 24, 1948, in Le Mars, Iowa, Don’s life was marked by a steadfast dedication to his country and a deep love for his family and hobbies.
A proud Marine, Don served his country for 20 years with the same courage and dedication that he approached all aspects of his life which laid the foundation for his strong principles and work ethic. His military career was distinguished and he was deeply respected by his peers.
Don was a graduate of Valley Christian High School. His personal interests were a reflection of his vibrant character. He had a passion for horses, enjoyed dressing in Western attire, and was a frequent visitor to casinos. Traveling and playing cards were among his favorite pastimes, but nothing compared to the joy he found in spending time with his grandchildren.
Don was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lorri Huisman; his father, Bernard Huisman; his mother, Geneva Huisman; and his brothers, Larry and Russ Huisman. He is survived by his sister Bev (Arnie) Schelling; son, Jeff (Alison) Huisman; daughter, Robyn Huisman Baker; son, Joe (Manda) Baker; daughter, Jenniffer Baker; and 9 grandchildren.
Don's life was one of service, love, and laughter. His legacy is carried on through his children and grandchildren, who continue to honor his memory by living out the values he cherished.
