Edith Christiana Kendall Clark's Obituary
Edith Christiana Kendall Clark was born to Roy and Helen Kendall on June 22, 1923 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota on my grandparent’s farm.I passed away at my grandson’s home on July 16, 2015. I have three brothers – Roy (Nickname -Buzz), LeRoy (Nickname -Pal), and Glenn. I also have four sisters; Marin, Pearl, Alice and Marjorie; All are now deceased except for LeRoy. Our dad was disabled from World War 1. Our mother was the county school teacher. We were a large but happy family. I married Virgil Vilas Clark in 1942. We had our only child Michael LeRoy in 1943. We traveled a lot for work as a young family. In 1984 our son passed away and we were blessed with raising our grandsons Todd Allen Clark and Kelly Chris Clark for several years. Virgil and I had a wonderful life filled with family and friends. We made a lot of friends through our ceramic shop which was in our home and that we spent our retirement doing. Edith loved doing ceramics, everyone has holiday pieces that she has made for us over the years. When grandpa passed away in 1990, we had to dissolve the business and only pour ceramic for family and friends.
Survived by Brother Pal (Marilee), Grandchildren; Michelle (Richard Hoover); Todd (Holly), Chad (Karie), Kelly (Jaycee) Clark, Robert Stewart, Waylon Stewart. Great grandchildren; Tyler (Niki), Joshua, Zachary Clark, Rebecca and Megan Hoover, Kelsey, Mikey, Brooks and Jersey Clark. One great, great grandson; Cash Taylor Clark. Several extended relatives in Minnesota; Linda and Denny Van Rossum, Marilee Duncanson, Jill Johnson, Jackie Payne, Sandra Kendall, and many others.
Grandma had a lot of health issues over the last several years we all tried our best to give her the care she needed but a big shout out to her hospice team with most extended gratitude to Michelle Williams with Canyon Home Care and Hospice for taking care of all of us and for the exceptional care you gave to grandma. Dementia is an evil disease and we hope everyone is healing from circumstances that have transpired throughout the years.
Grandma had lots of friends and she enjoyed spending time with you all, especially the ‘card group’, as we know she loved playing cards. She taught all my boys to play Skip-bo- around the time they turned three and always commented that Joshua was the luckiest when it came to that game, he always won, and he is the only one she never beat.
Grandma we will miss you but we know that you have spent the last 25 years waiting to see your honey again and even longer to see your son.
Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon, Monday, July 20, 2015 at the Mountain Vista United Methodist Church, 8931 South 3200 West, West Jordan, Utah with a viewing prior to services from 11:00 to 12:00. Interment at the West Jordan City Cemetery.
