Edna Chiles Arnold's Obituary
Edna Chiles Arnold, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away March 19, 2024. Born in Norwalk, Iowa, in 1929, to George Elra and Edith Chiles, the youngest of seven children. She graduated from Norwalk High School in 1945 where she played on a state championship basketball team.
She moved to Provo, Utah in the fall of 1947 where she reconnected with J. Lynn Arnold recently discharged from serving in the US Navy. They had previously met when she took a summer trip to Utah in 1943. They were married in June of 1948 and were married for 67 years before his death in 2015. They were the parents of a daughter and two sons. She loved to bake, read, garden, and watch sports, especially the Utah Jazz. After Lynn's retirement they enjoyed traveling, visiting 48 states and 25 countries mostly in Europe. She will be truly missed by those who knew her.
Survived by daughter Gayle A. Moffett (James) of San Antonio, Texas, daughter-in-law Marie Arnold of Canton, Georgia, son Ralph Arnold, (Donna) of Salt Lake City, Utah, three grandsons, three great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters. Preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband J. Lynn, son Joseph L. Arnold, Jr and grandson James Moffett III.
The Family would like to extend special thanks to the wonderful staff of Spring Gardens at Holladay for providing her such loving care over the last 2 years.
No services will be held per her wishes. Burial at Provo City Cemetery.
