Edna Catherine Cox's Obituary
Edna was born June 24, 1959 to Arthur and Susie Thomas. She was 1 of 8 children. She experienced trauma in her youth that affected nearly every aspect of her latter years. She was so BRAVE. Edna had her first of 10 children at age 13, She had two sets of twins. The first set was born on October 1st. The second set was born almost 12 years later on October 2nd. She protected her kids as much as her 4'11” frame could protect us. She was generous with what little she had. She loved cooking and wanted to become a chef. She enjoyed baking birthday cakes
from scratch.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur & Susie Thomas, as well as 3 of her siblings, Arthur L Thomas Jr, Alphonso L Thomas, Thomas L Thomas, one child, Viteria R Cox.
Edna is survived by her sisters Yolanda Polk, Linda Keita, Kimmi Thomas and brother Philip B Thomas.
As Edna accepts her place with the ancestors her legacy will continue live through her daughters, Tamu Thomas-Smith, Fayola Thomas-Burd, Leah Davis, Lateefah Glover, Vera Cox, Vanna Cox, Maykela Cox, and R. I. Cox-Aiken, and her son Aboyomi Thomas, 21 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
