Edna Mazel Burr Prigmore's Obituary
Edna Mazel Burr Prigmore passed away peacefully on July 22,2026 at age 86. Her favorite scripture was “be still and know that I am God”. She would like to say today, “Be still and know that I am WITH God”.
Edna was born in Midvale Utah on Nov. 24, 1939. She graduated from Jordan High School in 1958 and married Marvin Prigmore from Bingham Utah. Together they had four sons. They lived a military life as Marv was in the Navy for 26 years and served as Lieutenant Commander. They then lived in San Diego, California for 35 years as Dr. Marv counseled families and addicts. During that time Edna received her Master’s Degree in Computers and Education. She taught college courses for software and office skills. She loved going to different colleges and teaching specialized classed in Word, Excel and Power Point. She was the secretary of the statewide California Business Education Association (CBEA).
Never one to sit around Edna found joy in life’s simple moments. She loved sewing, knitting, crocheting, reading, traveling, attending plays and tending to her aviary. She enjoyed all animals but she particularly loved birds. Her favorite bird was a chickadee. She loved the outdoors and camping in the RV with Marv! Above all her greatest JOY came from spending time with her family.
Edna & Marv retired and moved to Syracuse Utah. She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and loved to serve wherever she was called. She and Marv served a three-year ARP (Addiction Recovery Program) mission.
In 2020 Edna suffered a stroke, paralyzing her right side and confining her to a wheelchair. She maintained a positive attitude and lived to serve others. She spent her final years at Legacy House Assisted Living in South Jordan Utah. She loved the location right next to the Jordan River Temple because she could drive her wheelchair there as often as she wanted. She dedicated her time to temple work for the last years of her life.
Edna was a member of the Utah Daughters of Pioneers. She had 16 pioneer ancestors.
Edna was known for her big heart, spunky spirit and classy style. Her legacy lives on in the love she gave to others and she will be deeply missed by many!
The family would like to thank the Legacy Facility for the wonderful care that she received there and the many friendships she had.
Edna is preceded in death by her parents, all but 2 siblings and her sweet husband, Marv. She is survived by her four sons & their wives. Scott (Kathy) Prigmore, Steve (Claire) Prigmore, Stacy (Kim) Prigmore & Stanley (Natalie) Prigmore. She has 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
There is no viewing or funeral. In lieu of flowers, do a kind deed today. Edna and Marv will be interned at Utah Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park in Bluffdale, Utah.
