Edward Lewis Cassingham's Obituary
Edward Lewis Cassingham, Born February 8, 1938 in Oak Creek, Colorado, to Lawerence and Goldie Cassingham. Passed peacefully on September 15, 2015.
Ed was the youngest of 4 kids. He grew up in Provo Utah, attending Dixon Jr. High and Provo High school. He was on the high school basketball team and also the diving team. Dad enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing and could mimic an Elk Call better than anyone. He loved playing the harmonica and could carry quite a tune. He married his high school sweetheart Phyllis Wright, later divorced and together they had four children. Dad worked for Ironton Steel and moved to their location in Wyoming to work the Iron ore mine in Atlantic City working as a foreman and Fire Marshall. He later moved back to Provo and then Spanish Fork with his family working at Sears and later managing The Woodhouse in Orem and a variety of retail positions until retirement. He married his soul mate Faye Morton and they resided in Orem until his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Mona Milano (Charles) and Jean Kaas and wife Faye.
He is survived by his brother, Bill Cassingham (Joanne); children, Becky Nicol (Pat), Bob Casshingham (Pam), Cindy Gardner( Kyle) and Carrie Hill (John); 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He is loved and will be deeply missed.
A small memorial service will be held at Provo Riverside Park located at 1260 W 650 N, Provo UT at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, September 19, 2015.
A heartfelt thank you to Amber and the aides with Canyons hospice for their compassionate care of our dad. Also, a very special thank you to his granddaughter Carissa for the countless hours spent helping to care for him.
