Edward "Ed" G. Price's Obituary
Our courageous husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 peacefully with loved ones. The son of Charles Eton Price and Renee Lola Felt, he was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. As he grew, he met his wife, Virginia Bessie Sheldon. He married her at 22 and they went on to have six children. Ed Price was an amazing man with many attributes. With a knack for electronics, he obtained his B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 1956 at the University of Utah. He then went on to obtain his M.S. in Electrical Engineering in 1963 also at the University of Utah. Later between 1968-1971 he did a research dissertation at the University of Wales. Right around this time between May 1955 - Jan 1956 he worked as a Research Assistant in the Explosives Research Group at University of Utah. During the 50’s and 60’s he served in the United States Army as a Project Officer. He had several patents two of which are one of a cordless microphone and of a handheld calculator. Later he worked for Weber State University for fifteen years as an Assistant Professor teaching upper division classes in Electrical Engineering. Aside from work, he enjoyed many things two of which are graphoanalysis and German. He also had a comic strip for the newspaper known as a “Shadrack”. Ed was known for traveling all around the world and learning about new cultures. He is loved and is greatly missed. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 18, 2014 at the Midvalley LDS 4th Ward, 1106 East 8050 South, Sandy, UT with a viewing prior to services from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
