He was the second of five vivacious boys. As a youth he loved spending time with his family skiing, hiking, boating, playing sports, fishing, and hunting. Growing up he was an active member of the LDS Church in the Monument Park 13rd Ward of Salt Lake where he was in Scouts, played sports, and was affectionately known as ‘Hawk’ in basketball.
He graduated in 1964 from Highland High School in Salt Lake, where he enjoyed wrestling, playing football, and playing the clarinet. After high school he served honorably as an LDS missionary in West Germany from 1965 to 1967.
He met the first love of his life, Susan Ruth Dyer whom he married on December 6, 1968, in the Salt Lake City Temple. He held various positions of employment within the LDS church and numerous sales positions with other companies thereafter. His last employer was Xango, where he worked in the German call center.
On February 26, 2005, he married his latest love, Marsha Diane Roth, with whom he enjoyed his remaining years. Upon retirement his real passion as an entrepreneur began with buying and selling thousands of items on KSL.
Ed was well known for his loving care and devotion of thousands of creatures great and small from dogs and cats to finches and angel fish.
