Elaine C Farrer's Obituary
Elaine Farrer was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, with a heart of gold. She left this world on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at age 85.
She was born to Andrew and Melva Johnson Cooper on February 22, 1936 in Sandy, Utah. She moved to Orem as a child and loved being a lifelong Orem resident. On July 1, 1953, she married the love of her life and her eternal companion, W. Mark Farrer in the Salt Lake LDS temple. Together they began a lifelong joy of traveling all over the United States, Canada and Germany. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Elaine was a wonderful homemaker and could create a meal with whatever was in the fridge or on the shelf. Mark always grew a huge garden with a variety of fruits and vegetables. Every year, Elaine would bottle everything Mark would grow. Mom used to say that there was nothing better than a tomato fresh out of the garden.
During her life she worked hard at many jobs including a bank teller, a butcher, and a secretary. She made friends wherever she worked or travelled but her most cherished friends were those she had since childhood.
After retirement, she turned into a snowbird. They would migrate to Yuma, Arizona in the winter and summers were spent on the Oregon coast.
Her greatest pride and joy in life was her posterity. Elaine is survived by her husband, Mark; children Dolly Marlaine Rider (Kevin), Vickie Elaine Johnson (Russell), Bradley Mark Farrer (Jan), Scott Walter Farrer (Michele); sister Coleen Woodhouse.
At her passing she had 22 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Preceded in death by her parents, daughter Carrie Nan Frampton, granddaughter Natalie Michele Farrer, grandson Kevin “Kevy” Rider, brother Jack Cooper and sister DeAne Cooper.
Thank you Scott and Michele for getting mom home from Yuma so everyone could be there with her.
'Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.' John 14:27
