Elise was such a great, sweet person. We started going to a movie every weekend… not sure for how many years. We had a great time discussing the movie, the family, work, and just life. We also chatted quite often on the phone. She was such a special person and a great cousin. She was a sweetheart! Once I was washing my large front room windows and she helped me get them out and back in….they were so awkward and heavy… we struggled a bit, but with her help, we accomplished it. She was always willing to help anyone. I Loved going out to eat with her too. We could chat for hours and hours. We all will miss her so much. All my prayers, love, and thoughts are with you, Elise!

Our mothers were inseparable all their lives. That relationship continued after they both married and had families. Our families shared many Thanksgiving dinners and other events in our lives. Her mother dressed up Elise and Michele in their pretty dresses and bonnets every Sunday when we attended church together. We were able to take Elise and Michele with us on trips to the Northwest and California. Elise and Amy went to Hawaii with me and my daughter Jamie. We kept in contact as we began to have our children and start a new season in our lives. We have now come to this season in our lives where we have to deal with loss; our husbands, our parents, illness and eventually our own lives. Amy and Joe, I'm glad that the Lord chose your mother to bring you to this earth to love and nurture you. I'm positive that she left many memories for you to remember her by. I knew your Mom for forty years. We stated at Mountain Fuel at about the same time. After she retired, I kept in touch with her by email. Then when I retired we became lunch buddies and shopping partners. The first time I went to lunch with Elise after I retired, she wanted to go shopping after we ate. I told her I wasn't much of a shopper. But she said she had to look for something, so off we went. After that there was no discussion that we would find a place to shop after every lunch. So I have lost my lunch buddy, my shopping partner and my dear friend. She was there for me when my daughter died. Not with advice on what I should or should not do, but just to listen and cry with me. I will always remember that. Elise loved her grandkids, she alway had an update on what they were doing and all their accomplishments. Thanks to Amy and Joe for keeping me updated on her condition. I love Elise very much and will miss her desperately. Evie Richards

Amy, I wish i could a say or do something that would take away the heartbreak. I wish I could tell you time would your wounds. Experience tells me I can’t do either. I can tell you your sweet Mom is not in pain or suffering any longer. I can tell you, for a fact, she is with other loved ones in another realm, not far from here. She will always be with you and only a thought away. The urge to call and tell her news doesn’t disappear. I can tell you she loved you fiercely on this earth and continues to love you. My heart is broken...for myself, her kids, grandkids, family, friends and anyone who came in contact with Elise. She is a very kind-hearted person. I have so many fond memories of her. She is my dear cousin and I have known her since I can remember. Her mother and my grandmother were very close sisters and we all grew up together. Over the years, we have become friends as well. We'd go to breakfast often and catch up. She was very supportive of my late partner, Lu, and they bonded over their journeys through cancer. She is a very creative person and I enjoyed thinking up crafty things with her and traveling to JoAnns where we would occasionally spend way too much time and money.

She will be missed greatly. Love you, Elise!

I could share so many memories I have with her. For some reason this silly memory sits in my head: I'll bet I was only maybe five or six? and we went to Liberty Park for a picnic. I can remember grandma and grandpa were there and Aunt Anne and Uncle Ken (Elise's parents)...and I think Michelle and my mom? Elise took me on the amusement rides. She and went on the 'tilt-a-whirl' and were laughing and spinning....and spinning. Uh...I got so sick...all I wanted to do was lay in the grass after that and make everything stop spinning.
