Elizabeth Jean Clark's Obituary
On Saturday, April 6th 2019, Elizabeth Jean Stout Clark, passed through the veil after a 3 year battle with cancer. Elizabeth was born in Royal Oak, Michigan on February 28th, 1965. Her parents are William Douglas Stout and Margaret Jean Miller. She grew up with 4 siblings, Bryan, Greg, Stephen and a younger sister Jennifer. She grew up in Provo Utah and attended Provo High School where she participated in flag twirling and played viola in the orchestra. She had many high school friends. Elizabeth attended Brigham Young University where she met her first husband, David Newbern. They moved to Santa Monica, CA where her first son Nicholas was born. She and David later divorced. Elizabeth was a dedicated mother and worked many jobs to support her young son. While working at Piper Jaffray in Provo, she met the love of her life, Cary Ray Clark. They married in the Manti Utah Temple on June 8th, 2001. They together are the parents of one son, Preston. She enjoyed dancing, playing the viola, many types of crafting, cooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She went back to school to study music at Salt Lake Community College, hoping to join the Orchestra at Temple Square. Due to the cancer, she lost all feeling in her fingers and was unable to continue playing her beloved viola. Despite the cancer, she continued to find ways to be creative and serve her family and neighbors. She was an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. She loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and shared her faith with many. Throughout her battle with cancer she relied on the love and sustaining influence of the Savior. Those who knew her were inspired by her faith, kindness and grace and were blessed by her many talents. She is survived by her husband Cary, her boys Nicholas and Preston, step children Summer, Derrick, Sterling, Brittany and her 14 grandchildren. She will be greatly missed but we know that she is at peace and is in the arms of the Savior and many loved ones who have been waiting for her. We love you Elizabeth and we will be with you again.
