Elizabeth Feller Meacham's Obituary
Elizabeth Clara Feller Meacham, 79, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2016 of causes incident to age.
She was born April 18, 1936 to Samuel and Elizabeth Feller in Benson, Utah. On September 10, 1952 she married Donald Francis Meacham in the Logan LDS Temple. Together they made their home in Logan, Utah, Las Vegas, Nevada, and Provo, Utah for over 63 years.
To Beth, family meant everything. She raised 9 children, 3 of whom were adopted and welcomed into the family after the tragic death of her brother. She enjoyed spoiling 35 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren and would have delighted in the many more descendants who are on the way. Family gatherings during holidays were a joy to Beth, during which time she cooked mountains of food and organized games and activities. She enjoyed planning reunions for the immediate and extended family, as well as connecting generations so that they would know and love one another. She opened her home to others who needed a temporary place to stay and was generous in giving to all. Beth took care of many of God’s children, not just her own.
Beth liked to read, cook, and sew. She enjoyed putting together puzzles, compiling books of remembrance, sewing Christmas stockings, collecting nativities and dolls as well as making world-famous peanut brittle, Christmas candy and raspberry jam. With friends, Beth loved to go to lunch, have movie outings, and visit. She seemed to be able to make a magical, personal connection with everyone she met and was a thoughtful peace-keeper.
For a season in her life, Beth sold children’s clothing for a local Provo merchant and then opened her own children’s clothing store, Kid’s Kottage.
Beth was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she loved to serve. Beth had a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and showed it by the way she lived, loved, and served. She shared that testimony with her family and encouraged them to love and support one another.
Beth was preceded in death by her parents, 7 siblings, and a grandson. She is survived by her husband Donald, and children Linda (Jamie) Evans; Steven (Ginny) Meacham; Kent (Angela) Meacham; Jay (Jocelyn) Meacham; DeAnn (Duff) Broeker; Susan (Clarke) Woodger; Kathy (Charles) Vorwaller, Sandy (Troy) Mills; and Wendy (Mont) Erickson.
A visitation for friends and family will be held Thursday, March 24 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. with family expressions of love beginning at 11:30 at the LDS Edgemont 1st Ward located at 303 West 3700 North in Provo. Graveside services will follow at the Provo City Cemetery.
