Elizabeth "Mollie" Ann Norton's Obituary
Elizabeth “Mollie” Ann Norton, 74, of Eagle Mountain, Utah passed away on September 14, 2024 in her home, comfortably and at peace.
Born on October 6, 1949 in Harvey, Illinois to Frank “Jim” and Bertha Mae Van Etten. Mollie attended Bryant Elementary and Middle School in Harvey and graduated from Thornridge High School in Dolton, Illinois in the class of 1967. She married Dean Norton in November of 1970 and together they had two sons Jeff and James. She and her sons moved to Orem, Utah in 1981 where she raised her two boys and worked professionally as a secretary at variety of places including her position as Secretary to the Department Chair at BYU in the College of P.E. Sports.
Mollie was known for her love of Jesus Christ and his Gospel, her passion for organizing, her professed life mission of teaching children, as well as her love of any and all things pink and purple.
She is survived by her sister Marilyn Nowakowski (Jerry); son, Jeff Norton (Crystal); and her son, James Norton (Julie) as well as seven grandchildren, Sarah, Marcus, Xander, Jake, Max (Abbie), Adalyn, and Sophia. She was preceded in death by her parents Jim Van Etten and Bertha Mae and Ralph Dodd and her grandson, David Norton.
A viewing will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 PM on Tuesday, October 1 and from 10:00 to 10:45 AM on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at the LDS chapel located at 4142 N Lake Mountain Road, Eagle Mountain, UT 84003. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 2 at 11:00 AM also at the chapel in Eagle Mountain, Utah.
