Eljay Solomon Wharff's Obituary
Eljay was born to Ken Wharff and Jennie Hannebaum on July 28, 1980. He grew up in the large and loving arms of the Hale family where he spent many holidays creating memories and he always enjoyed the annual Fourth of July water fight. From a very young age, his fiery temperament and mischievous ways found him in constant trouble. Along his journey, he met some of his best and lifelong friends whom he always shared much laughter and joy with. Eljay had a deep love for his mom and step-dad, his brothers, and little sister.
In the winter of 1999, he met the love of his life Nicole on a blind date. They were inseparable from that point on. Eljay and Nicole were married on a beautiful summer day in August 2002. The best days of his life were the days he got to welcome his beautiful children into the world. His buddy Zak joined the family in March of 2007 and his little princess Maddie in April 2010. They had the wonderful experience to be sealed together as a family in the San Diego Temple in April 2012.
Eljay’s love for technology, superheroes, and all things “nerdy” ran deep. He was constantly discussing his desire to own the latest gadget, watch the newest movie, and to share those passions with his son. Known as Agent Wharff to many, he served others regularly with his talents and ability to fix any computer problem that arose without asking for anything in return. Many will miss the opportunity to access Eljay’s great talent, but we know that those skills live on in his children. He instilled a love for classic rock in both his children and they love to listen to “daddy’s CD”.
Eljay was a loving husband, father, and a friend to many. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him but will be remembered for his cheerful demeanor and his ability to relate to all. We are grateful for the time we had to spend with Eljay on his sojourn upon the Earth and look forward to the glorious day when we will be reunited as our forever family.
A viewing will be held on October 5, 2015 from 6-8 PM at the Geneva Heights Stake Center located at 546 North 500 West Orem, Utah and October 6, 2015 from 10-10:45. Funeral services will begin at 11. The graveside service will be located at the Orem City Cemetery.
