Ella Janiel Duce's Obituary
Ella Janiel Duce was born on July 1st, 1938, in American Falls, Idaho. Her parents Vera and Darold Phillips
preceded her in death. She and her sister Linda Hudson spent their younger years in Glenns Ferry, Idaho.
She carried many fond memories of her life there and developed a great love of animals. Her family
would relocate to Washington in her teenage years.
Everett, Washington is where she would meet and marry her husband, LeGrand Fisher Duce, who
preceded her in death on March 10, 2013. Immediately after LeGrand’s return from his mission in the
Northern States Mission they were married on October 8th, 1959, in the Salt Lake Temple, Salt Lake City
Utah.
Janiel was the mother to 8 children who survived her. Colleen Diana Duce, James Phillips Duce, Brian Lee
Duce (Brenda), Theodore Darold Duce, Joy Andrea King (Scott), Barbara Janiel Hammond (Travis), Karin
Leola Caswell (Clinton), and Jennifer Renee Billy (Brian). She has also survived by 31 grandchildren, 31
great grandchildren.
Janiel was always busy. Working hard in a family Real Estate Business she built with her husband. She
was a Real Estate Broker for over 25 years. Janiel had a great love for the Lord. She spent a lifetime in
His service. She served 4 missions with her husband. She served on many church callings including,
Relief Society President, Young Womans President and Stake Young Woman’s President. She and her
husband also served as the coordinators for the Lake Stevens, Washington Food Bank for many years.
Janiel looked forward to reuniting with her husband and loved ones on the other side of this life’s veil.
She will be missed by many who love her. She leaves many friends and a legacy of love and service.
