Elma Louise Udy Mazzola
9-29-1928—9-27-2019
Elma, age 90, died peacefully at Chancellor Gardens Care Center in Clearfield, Utah on 9-27=2019. She was born in Plymouth, Utah the fifth child of Melvin Anes Udy and Phoebe Louie Nish Udy.
Her brothers, Melvin Leron Udy, John Udy, Verl Nish Udy and Carl J. Udy, her first husband Sam Mazzola, her second husband Ben Farber preceded her in death. Her only living sister, Joyce Udy Bost (Roger) resides in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.
Elma graduated from Bear River High School, then attended and graduated from the LDS Business School in Salt Lake City, Utah. She worked at several banks, BMW Corp,. and Brotman Hospital performing accounting and bookkeeping functions. These places of employment were in Salt Lake City, Utah and in West Los Angeles and Culver City California. She retired at 53 years of age.
She moved from West LA to St. George, Utah where she oversaw the building of three homes, and one home in Dell Webb’s Sun City Summerlin in Las Vegas where she and Ben lived for many years. After their divorce, she moved back to one of her homes in the St. George area.
Her hobbies included; painting in which she copied the masters such as Van Gogh and Monet. She played her Hammond organ, wrote poetry. She loved to make spaghetti, her favorite food.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Pamela Royster, Marilyn Cox, Randy Udy, Tammy Richards, Kevin Udy, Karen Udy Hansen, Delpha Taylor, Verlene Weese, Joann Marriott, Lisa Bost McAffee, and Cheryl Bost Smith.
Elma will be buried beside her husband Sam Mazzola in the Evergreen Cemetery located in Arlington, CA.
