Elsa Talavera's Obituary
Our beloved mother, grandmother, and mamita Elsa Talavera passed away at home on March 2, 2012, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Elsa was born May 10, 1932 in Mollendo, Arequipa, Peru to Federico Talavera and Juana Gonzalez de Talavera. Living in Peru, she raised three beautiful daughters. In July, 1988, she moved to Salt Lake City to be reunited with her daughters. Her greatest joy was becoming a grandmother. From the time her grandchildren were born she was never apart from them. The hardest part of leaving is what she will miss from their lives. She is survived by her daughters Lourdes (Steven) Paul and Roxanne Casos, her princesita Nicole and her hijito Nathan, together with an extended family of step-children and step-grandchildren who she loved to be around. Her daughter Jenny and her parents preceded her in death. Many family and friends were waiting for her with joy and anticipation as she passed through the veil. A viewing will be held Saturday, March 10, 2012 from 9:30 to 10:45 at the Winder 8th Ward Chapel, 1361 East 4000 South, Salt Lake City, Utah, with a funeral service immediately following at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Mountain View Memorial Estates.
