Elva Virginia Zeh's Obituary
Elva Virginia Weed Zeh passed peacefully on October 1st 2021 at the age of 72. She is survived by her two children, Daughter, Jennifer Elizabeth Kuris and Son, Gregory Neil Zeh (Aubrie Nikol Zeh). As well as her five beautiful grandchildren, Cooper, Emerson, Magnolia, Kristine and Connor. Elva was born Aug 2nd 1949 in Montgomery, Alabama to Charles Harper Weed and Marjorie Chancy. Elva grew up in Hartford, Alabama and attended Geneva Country High School, class of 1968. During her time there, she was selected to the National Beta Club and was a member of the Senior Prom Decorating Committee. As a child she enjoyed traveling to Montgomery with her family to visit her grandparents. One of her fondest memories, was going to get ice cream with her grandfather and watching the trains come in to Montgomery Union Station. As a little girl she developed a love of dolls and became an avid collector all her life. She especially loved collecting the Madame Alexander series. In 1972 she graduated from George Wallace State Technical Junior College with an Associates Degree in Science. Later, she continued her education at Brigham Young University where she studied Fashion Merchandising. As well as in 1998, she received her Diploma to become a Teacher’s Aide.
Elva joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1972. She was a devote member and loved the Lord Jesus Christ. She especially loved serving in the primary. During her time at BYU she met the love of her life, Walter Norman Zeh of Chester, Connecticut. They were married December 23rd 1979. Walter and Elva, as well as their two children lived many places, from Costa Rica and Haiti, to New England and the South. They eventually settled in Brookhaven, Mississippi.
During Elva’s life she was filled with the spirit of Elijah. She was a dedicated historian who loved family history, as well as British and American history. She owned a large personal library filled with historical books. Her most cherished possession is a family history book written by her uncle about the Holman family. She enjoyed searching for historical treasures at consignment shops and yard sales. She was a beautiful mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly. She will be missed by all. Her love of history will live on through her posterity. God be with her till we meet again.
