Eric Stephen Arnold's Obituary
Eric Stephen Arnold of Magna, Utah, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, leaving an Eric-shaped hole in our lives.
Eric was born on March 15, 1980, to Charles Budd Arnold and Donnetta Kay Ashcraft, and he grew up in Magna with his five siblings. Curious and quick to laugh, he inherited the gift of gab and his love of fixing and building things from his maternal grandfather. Eric had more tools–and projects he was working on–than you could shake a stick at. He also loved to work on cars and could often be found in the driveway late at night working under his car.
Eric went to Cyprus High School and worked a variety of jobs after high school, but the ones he enjoyed the most were the ones where he got to work with his hands and be outdoors. In 2002, he married Michelle Sorenson and they had two daughters, Caitlyn and Layla Mae. He loved to go fishing and camping, and he shared many trips with his wife and girls.
Eric is survived by his parents, his wife Michelle, his daughters Caitlyn and Layla Mae, and his five siblings: one sister, Andria (Hyrum Seth Robb), and his brothers, Courtney (Tamera), Christopher (Lindsay), Kevin (Natalie), and Jordan, as well as nine nephews and five nieces. He was lovingly greeted in the next world by both sets of grandparents, Glenn and Lalamae Slack Ashcraft and Charles H. and Beverly Budd Arnold.
His remains will be laid to rest with his paternal grandparents later this spring in the Salt Lake City Cemetery during a private family service. In lieu of flowers, please donate time or money to the beautifying of local parks and green spaces.
