Eriel Kamijah-Jade Shaniel Cater's Obituary
Eriel Kamijah-Jade Shaniel Cater
On June 20, 2026, our precious angel, Eriel Kamijah-Jade Shaniel Cater, was born directly into the loving arms of Jesus.
Though her time with us was spent safely within her mother’s womb, her life was filled with love, purpose, and the presence of God. Today, we choose not to dwell on the time we lost, but to celebrate the sacred months we were blessed to carry, love, and cherish her.
Eriel’s beautiful soul only ever knew the warmth of her mother’s womb, the comforting voice of her father, the love of her brothers and sister, the prayers of her family, and then the perfect peace of Paradise as she opened her eyes to gaze upon the face of God.
Though we longed to hold her in our arms, we find comfort in knowing she has always been held in His.
Eriel is lovingly survived by her parents, Kamisha and Eric Cater; her beloved siblings, Kenbriel, Elijah, Ma’Kai, Julian, J’Ace, King-Eric, Tristan, Messiah, and Serenity; her grandparents, Tracy Barnes, Keira Jolley, Jeremiah Hart, and Misty Hart; along with many loving aunts, uncles, great-grandparents, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives have been forever touched by her.
She was joyfully welcomed into Heaven by her grandfather, Stephen Cater; her aunts, Shabree and Felisha; her brother, Amaris; her great-aunt, Amber; her precious baby cousin; her great-aunt, Barbara Jean; and her great-grandmother, Alice Faye, whose birthday was June 28, 1965.
Although our hearts ache with the emptiness of not bringing Eriel home, we rejoice in the promise that this is not goodbye—it is simply, “Until we meet again.” Through Jesus Christ, we have the hope of eternal life, and we look forward to the glorious day when we will hold our sweet daughter for the very first time.
“For now we walk by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7
