Erla Johnson Pehrson's Obituary
ERLA JOHNSON PEHRSON
Erla Johnson Pehrson, our sweet mother, returned home on March 2, 2026 at the age of 85. She was surrounded by her loving family as she peacefully joined her anxious loved ones waiting through the veil. Erla was born April 9, 1940 in Salt Lake City Utah to William Albert and Afton Elizabeth Johnson. She was the middle child with an older sister Dian three years older, and a brother Bill six years younger. Erla spent her childhood on Compton Bench working hard with her family farming. Erla went to Farmington Elementary and Davis High School. She met Clayton the summer of 1958 and they were married June 29, 1960 in the Salt Lake Temple. They made their home in Farmington, and raised their five children. Erla was a wonderful mother and devoted her whole life to serving and loving her family. She loved to grow a garden, and she thrived at growing tomatoes. She had a very tender spot in her heart for animals and cared for and loved many! She was very talented in many areas but she was especially good at cooking. She made exceptional Sunday dinner rolls that melted in your mouth. She learned how to make butter mints while a teenager working at the Heidelberg Restaurant in Farmington. She created The Mint Candy Company and spent much of her time as “ The Mint Lady” magically making her amazing candy. Erla was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served diligently in many callings including Cub Scouting, Relief Society President, primary, and a Temple Worker. Erla loved her Savior Jesus Christ and shared her strong conviction of Forever Families. Erla is survived by her children; Jody and (Donel) Anderson of Willard, Shawn and (Susan) Pehrson of Syracuse, Shane and (Rebecca) Pehrson of Syracuse, Jacob Pehrson of Farmington, 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and in-laws DeeAnn Johnson, Sidney and Tiiu Pehrson, and John and Vicki Jo Smeckens. She was preceded in death by her husband Clayton, son Randy Clayton, her parents, and her siblings. The family would like to express their appreciation to The Family Tree Assisted Living, and her Hospice nurse Jennifer from Symbii for their loving care of our sweet mother.
