Ethel Irene Reed's Obituary
Ethel Irene Stone Reed, born September 5, 1923, passed away quietly at home June 21, 2012, of natural causes. She was the daughter of Blaine Henry and Martha Garner Stone. She married Haven Holbrook Reed December 24, 1945. Haven preceded her in death August 9, 1995. They were the parents of three daughters and five sons, that they raised in Salt Lake and Bountiful, making Bountiful their home for nearly fifty years.
Mom loved her family and especially the hours spent playing games, India and Uno being her favorites. Anytime she had three other people to play, you were on for hours. She also loved old cowboy movies and country music. And don't ever interrupt her 'Price is Right' show...She actually fired her home health therapist for coming during that hour!
The family would like to thank to Tara and Harmony Hospice for the tender care of Mom these past few weeks. Big hugs to Eldon and Jay for the huge part they took in Mom's day to day care these past few months--and the hours they spent with David and Lynda playing the games Mom loved.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, Joesph Stone and Lenord Stone. Surviving her are her eight children: June (Boyd) Uzelac, Lynda Reed, Blaine (Nancy) Reed, Eldon Reed, David Reed, Joy Minear (Craig) Lott, Jay Reed and Jim Reed, 22 Grandchildren, 57 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held at the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West, Wednesday the 27th of June at 11:00 a.m.
