Nancy Johnson
Ferne and Mel were often at our home in Anchorage. I remember she would have to use sweetener drops in her coffee that she always had with her. She loved frilly blouses (Pink!) and dresses. I don't remember her wearing pants. She and Mel would go to dinner around 3 in the afternoon, and then come out and visit with Mom and Dad (Leo and Helen Smith). We loved her! and Mel, who always gave the biggest hugs with his shy smile. She was always fiesty and so much fun. One time we took the train to Whittier, where she and Mel lived for quite awhile.
Nancy Johnson, daughter of Helen and Leo Smith, originally from Anchorage but now living in Marysville, WA, where my dad lives as well.
