Fernie loved to make people laugh. Anyone that mentions his name has a smile on their face and a memory of a joke(s) that he shared with them. He was the life of the party. He was a prankster and admired by many. He was very giving, loving and a great protector. He was a heavy duty mechanic by trade. He worked at Kennecott for 12 years. He was so proud of the opportunity he had to assemble the P&H shovels from the ground up. He had a mobile mechanic business. He loved classic cars, his ’65 Chevy that had to chew up the road, nothing slow for him.
He loved his wife and daughter with all of his heart, there wasn’t anything too expensive or too much that they could ask for from him. He was married to the love or his life for 44 years and when his daughter was married, he welcomed his new son Jose Claudio. He is survived by his wife and daughter Felicia (Jose Claudio Pardo-Arce). He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Anna Sato and his sister Denise.
