Florence Isabelle Barnes Hixon's Obituary
Florence passed away on October 12, 2013 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on June 4, 1921 in Snohomish, Washington. Beloved mother, grandmother and friend. Daughter of William Barnes and Lucia Hill. Married Bob Hixon in 1937 in Prosser, Washington and later moved to Dragerton, Utah. She managed to overcome many obstacles in her life with grace, dignity and determination. Her greatest love was raising her children. She conquered lifes lessons with intense passion and wisdom. She was a true angel to all. She later in life had a second chance at love with Kenneth “Blackie” Walters who she loved until his death. She kept her sense of humor and wit until the end.
Survived by her children Joan Stewart, Wanda Ostrander, Wally (Sherry) Hixon, Janet Hixon Werner, her special babies Breeonna and Shaylee Werner 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren and her adopted daughter Jayme Mast (aka) Sara Lucia Elizabeth!
Preceded in death by her husband, two sons Bobby and Larry, two daughters Sandy and Susanne, two two grandsons Hal and Michael.
A celebration of her life will be 4:00 pm, Sunday, October 20, 2013 at the Wasatch Presbyterian Church located at 1626 South 1700 East, Salt Lake City, Utah
