Florence Garside Keech's Obituary
Our beautiful mother, Florence Garside Keech, left her earthly existence incident to age on November 21, 2020. She was born to Aaron and Anna Garside on November 8, 1926 in Riverton, Utah. She was the youngest of twelve children and was adored by her 6 brothers and 5 sisters. Mom loved to tease and scare her friends and even us kids. Growing up near a canal brought a lot fun for mom, such as ice skating, when it froze over, but because of “Lickatudes” in the water she never learned to swim.
Mom and Dad met at an outdoor dancing pavilion. He said he was attracted to her beauty. They were married on November 17, 1948. Their marriage was later solemized in the Salt Lake Temple on August 28, 1959. Family meant everything to mom and dad and they were blessed with 5 children.
She had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and loved her Savior. She served faithfully in the Primary for over 25 years and many years in Young Womens and Relief Society.
She had a contagious laugh which drew people to her. She always wanted to hear about your day and was a great listener. She would love to visit and their front porch became a great gathering place for family and friends.
Mom and Dad loved to travel in their trailer. They had a group of friends that would all travel together. Yuma in the winter and Capitol Reef in the spring and fall. They would fit in a trip to Yellowstone almost every fall.
She is survived by her sweetheart Clarence M. Keech. They have been married for 72 years. Her children: Dixie Thompson, Jim (Jane), Kim Pullan Barnes, Robynn Fulton (Wesley), Keri Brown (Ron), 18 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, 22 great great grandchildren and later in life an adopted daughter, Valerie Phillips.
Preceded in death by three son-in-laws, Kenneth Thompson, Don Pullan, and Arthur Barnes and one great grandson, Owen Bates.
We want to thank the angels at Legacy of Taylorsville. They were there when we couldn’t be, spending countless hours talking and taking care of Mom. We want to thank Janet and Judith from Aspire our hospices angels.
