Frances “Marie” Nelson
1929 – 2017
Marie, 88, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away on Oct 3rd, 2017 peacefully after a 4 year struggle with dementia. Marie was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on Sept. 27th, 1929 to Hattie Yates Hubner and Walter Hubner. She was an only child. After graduation from high school at South High, she met the love of her life, Dean Nelson, and had one son, David. Marie and Dean enjoyed 51 happy years together. Their favorite pastimes were camping, square dancing and raising their miniature schnauzers. Dean passed away on April 3, 2001 of ALS disease. Marie is survived by her son Dave (Elaine) Nelson, her grandsons Justin (Chelsea) Nelson, and Patrick (Jeff) Nelson, and 2 great grandchildren, Otis and Layla Nelson, and many extended family.
There will be a graveside service 11:00 am, Monday, October 9, 2017 at the Salt Lake Cemetery.
