Frances Neff Taylor, 99 years old, of Highland, Utah passed away peacefully on December 21, 2022. She lived a long and rich life dedicated to service to others, especially her family. It is not lost on the family that she died on Read Obituary
We were saddened by the news that Aunt Frances had passed. We last saw her in 2004, when we hosted a Taylor family reunion, at “Sleepy Hollow,” which was the name affectionately given to the family cottage that George E. Taylor and his sons built along the Tunkhannock Creek, here in Pennsylvania. She was a lovely person and we will never forget her. Please accept our sincere condolences - Mary and Lawrence Yeager
Sister Frances was a special Lady. After Bonnie and I were baptized into the LDS Church in 1964, we became well acquainted with Charles and Frances. Their open arms, as well as many others, made us feel welcome into the State College Branch in State College, Pa. About a year later, we started building the State College Branch Chapel. Frances was right there in her work clothes pounding nails with everybody else, working on what would become the Relief Society Room. A little later Br. Charles became the Branch President and I was called to be one of his Counselors. Only having been in the Church a little over a year and one-half, I am sure I was of little help to him. Charles and Frances were heavily involved in coordinating the feeding of the Work Missionaries until we finished building the Chapel. There is special place in our hearts for both Charles and Frances.

I remember when my 6-year-old Kate decided to ride her bike on 56th street in Temple Terrace, unbeknownst to me. She was hit head-on by a car, and I was summoned by our apartment manager to the scene. Both of her femurs were broken (compound fractures). Someone handed me their phone to call my husband, as Kate was about to be airlifted to Tampa General. I was wondering how I was going to get to the hospital, when out of the blue appeared Frances! “Come get in my car,” she said, and she whisked me off to the hospital. I was so grateful to see her. She wasn’t just anyone, but a dear family friend. And at that moment, she was my angel!
Frances was and is one of the most sweet and kind woman I have ever met. She always had a pretty smile and greeted every one and made them feel welcome
My mom was the most gracious and kind people I have ever met. She was always looking out for everyone else.
I have had many memories flood my mind but I woke up smiling thinking of this one. When I was expecting Kevin, she came out to California to be with me. Kevin was not anxious to make his appearance anytime soon so mom suggested we ride the city bus for a half a day. So we got on the back of the bus where there seemed to be no shock absorbers and we ride around Westminster, California. We were both convinced that if that didn’t shake him loose, he was there to stay. (Spoiler - it didn’t work and Kevin was born via C- section a couple days later.) But mom was willing to ride in the back of an old city bus with her 9 month pregnant daughter for a half a day to try and get her grand baby to be born!
