Fready Randy Rivas' Obituary
With heavy hearts and fond memories, we announce the unexpected passing of Fready Randy Rivas, lovingly known as Chango, at the age of 61. Born in Salt Lake City, on February 24, 1964, to Josie and Raymond Rivas. Randy built a life full of love, laughter, and good times.
Randy had a big heart, and perhaps the biggest part of it belonged to his mother, Josie, whom he adored and cared for deeply. Out of all the siblings, he was the most outgoing—able to make friends anywhere he went and guaranteed to get everyone laughing.
He was the fun uncle, the life of the party, always dancing, cracking jokes, and bringing joy no matter what he was going through. A true busybody, Randy could never sit still and always found something to do—especially if it meant being outside with a little sunshine and some fresh air.
He is survived by his son Raymond Rivas, his beloved grandchildren Lorenzo, Rayden, and Aurora, his mother Josie Campbell, brothers Steve Rivas, Robert Rivas, and Anthony Campbell, and sisters Lorry Rivas and Sissy Campbell. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss his bright energy and humor.
He was preceded in death by his father Raymond Rivas Sr. and his brother Jim Rivas.
His spirit, his love, and his laughter will be remembered always.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 3, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Premier Funeral Services, 67 E 8000 S, Midvale, UT 84047. A reception will follow at 4:30 PM at 546 N 1100 W, Salt Lake City, UT 84116. All are welcome to come share stories, laughs, and memories in honor of a man who never met a stranger.
