Freddie Lee Roberts (73), of Salt Lake City, Utah passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones. Freddie Lee, fondly known as “Red” was born on January 28, 1950 in Ocala, Florida to LeCora Robinson-Roberts and Peter Roberts.
Freddie graduated from South Sumter High School in 1968. He received multiple awards for his athletic ability in track and basketball. Freddie also had a gift with music. He received awards for his musical abilities with his saxophone. After high school he did what most men did during those times, Freddie joined the Army in 1970 and reenlisted 3 times spending 6 years in various places overseas.
A friend of dads encouraged him to move to Utah where he attended Weber State University. This is where he met his eternal love, Juliette Marie. Freddie and Juliette married and blended a beautiful family.
Freddie is survived by his eternal love Juliette Marie, his children, Damon, Talecha, Torrin, Yvonne (Gordon) and his baby girl Tanika (Roger). Freddie is also survived by his sister’s Wanda, Dorothy (Dot), Gwen and his brother Johnny Lee. His favorite niece Candice (Eric), his grand children DeVonte (Betdjah), Ransom, DeeShon, Tatiana (Alex), Elijah, Clemente, DeAundr’e, Braylon, Jadin, Essien, Larry, Jasmine and Marlo. He also has 2 great grand daughters that he adored, Shantice, A’melea, and a great grand princess due January 2024.
Freddie was predeceased by his parents LeCora and Peter Roberts, his brother’s James Jr, Tommy Lee, and sister’s Ernestine and Doretha, and his beloved grand dog Peanut.
Freddie was strong willed, and had a great sense of humor, but also generous, loyal, and brave until the very end.
Daddy you fought so hard to stay with us. I will never forget you strength, determination and will. We love you and we will miss you so much. We know that, “you aight”.
Due to dad’s request, there will not be a funeral service. We are going to take Dad back home to Florida and have a celebration of life with our beloved Florida family at a later date.
I would like to give a special heartfelt thanks to my sister TaNika, and my brother Roger for always looking out for mom and dad. I appreciate everything that you do, and have done for mom and dad. Together we will get through this difficult time. Love you infinite ❤️
