Frederick "Fred" Dietrich's Obituary
Fred was born November 20,1929 in Weehawken, New Jersey to Frederich Dietrich and Hannah Mundwyler. He grew up in Salt Lake, graduated from Granite High School, and served an LDS Mission to Switzerland. He married Valda Pope on June 6,1957 in the Salt Lake Temple. He is a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many callings. He was a Scoutmaster, served in scouting leadership positions for 40 years and received the Silver Beaver Award. He was a master woodworker by trade, having one of his pieces in the Church History Museum. He is survived by his wife, Valda, five children, LaRee (Terry) Robertson, Mark (Julie) Dietrich, ValLynn (Kirby) Bauer, Blain (Jeanette) Dietrich, Brent (Shellie) Dietrich, 31 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, one sister, Marguerite Dietrich, two nieces, Malinda and Kelly Dietrich. Preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Fred and Charles Dietrich. Funeral services will be held Saturday March 17, 2012 at 11:00am at the LDS Chapel on 2742 W. 14400 S. in Bluffdale,UT. A viewing will be held from 6-8 pm Friday March 16 and from 10:00-10:45am prior to the funeral at the same location. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Boy Scouts of America.
