Dear Susan and Children,
Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of your husband and dad. I’m grateful that Stuart still reads the obituaries and that he caught Ross’s this morning. You were all recently in my thoughts. Since returning to Salt Lake 25 years ago I’ve occasionally wondered where you all ended up.
The current conditions and meeting restrictions add to the pain of losing a loved one. You will be in our thoughts tomorrow.
It was 47 years ago this coming August that I came to live with you for a few months. Every time we go to Disneyland with our son’s family I remember that you are the ones who first took me there. A few months ago Stuart and I took a stroll thru East Millcreek and I had him take a picture of me in front of the old house.
Best to all of you,
Martine Dirick Smith,
Salt Lake City
