Gary Owen Allen's Obituary
Gary Owen Allen 83, of West Jordan, Utah passed away May 9, 2026 in his beloved back yard.
Born on May 22, 1942 in Bingham, Utah to Melburn Rory and Mary Irene Anderson Allen. Gary graduated from Jordan High School he also received certification in Ranching Agriculture Sciences.
He was successful in two career choices retiring from Kennecott Copper and Granite School District, along with a successful lawncare and landscaping business winning the Sandy Beautification award 5 years in a row.
Gary was known for his love of fishing, for working on and restoring cars along with a passion for working in his beautiful yard.
Gary loved his Yorkshire Terrier Dogs and would spoil and pamper them with special dinners, blankets and toys. He also fed the neighborhood cats and had many bird feeders taking care of the birds too.
Gary grew an amazing garden that he would share with his family and neighbors. He was an excellent cook preparing dishes (and soups) to take to those in need in the ward and neighborhood sharing his many talents.
Gary was a creative exceptional artist not only on paper but in every project he touched.
Gary was previously married, and from that marriage he was blessed with three children. He later found love again and married his wife Linda Kathleen Jensen, on November 10, 1979 with whom he shared companionship and support; and gained three additional children.
Gary was preceded in death by his wife Linda whom he was dedicated to her care and needs until her Death on December 25, 2025. Gary is survived by his loving children Kristy, Kimber, Jayson, Darren, Jennifer, Benjamin, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Gary's talents, storytelling abilities, knowledge of so many things, the camping trips, fishing trips and the many outings will be greatly missed.
