Gary Chad Groesbeck's Obituary
Gary Chad Groesbeck
1963 - 2018
Gary Chad Groesbeck died suddenly from an unexpected illness on June 15th, 2018
surrounded by his family.
Chad was born February 22nd, 1963 in Provo, Utah to Gary Welby Groesbeck and Dorene
Hutchings. He was the oldest of three boys. He graduated from Provo High School in 1981 and was able to excel in a retail management career. Most of his Provo friends knew and loved Chad from the local Albertsons.
He married Karen Jorgensen on February 15th, 1985 and they made their home in Provo.
Together they had 5 children and eventually built a house in Highland, Utah. He and Karen
ended their marriage in 1994 and at that time Chad moved back to Provo.
Chad was an avid fisherman, hunter, and loyal Elvis fan. The thrill of his life was spending time
with his children and grandchildren and showing them the ropes of the outdoors. His passion for
adventures in nature has certainly continued on to his posterity. Chad was a sentimental man
and was known for giving anyone the shirt off his back. He had the gift of bringing humor and
laughter into every situation and a clever knack for making jokes.
Chad’s heart was irreparably broken 3 years ago when his youngest daughter Jenny was killed
in a tragic car accident in Spanish Fork, Utah. His granddaughter Lily was his saving grace and
gave him notable joy in this life. He loved her dearly and she, in return, loved her papa to
pieces.
Chad leaves behind his sons Garrett (Christa) Groesbeck and Bryan (Shae) Groesbeck; Jill
(Robert) Savage and Matthew (Tiffanie) Benson; grandchildren Grayson and Bella & Lily
Groesbeck and one on the way (Stratton Welby); his brother Kirk (Karen) Groesbeck and his
mother Dorene Hiatt.
He was preceded in death by his father Gary Groesbeck, his stepfather Jim Hiatt, his brother
Rodney Groesbeck, his first wife Karen Jorgensen, and his daughter Jennifer Lynn Groesbeck.
We are comforted in knowing Dad is with his beloved Jenny again and we have no doubt it was
a joyful reunion.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday June 20th, 2018 at 11:00 am at Springville City
