Gary Dean "Gruncle Gary" Peterson's Obituary
Gary Dean Peterson aka “Gruncle Gary”, 60, of Salt Lake City Utah completed his final journey home on November 13, 2013 – with family by his side. He was born in Grand Island Nebraska, but lived most of his life between Vernal and Salt Lake City, Ut. Gary was proud to be a Federal employee of the Bureau of Land Management, where he worked for over 25-years as a GIS specialist. He faced many physical hurdles that most people would not be able to overcome, and he saw his limitations as opportunity. This lead to a life of innovation which fostered his independent spirit and drove the need to create, design and improve. He always made the most of each day, and his quick wit and humor was astounding and will be missed dearly. He is survived by his siblings and their families - Russell & Esther Peterson, Roger & Wendy Peterson, and Rose& Carlyle Oaks; his nieces Christina (and Marriner) Merrill, Jaime Peterson, and Echo Oaks; his nephews John Wesley (and Mari) Peterson, Jon Whitney Peterson, Gary Serrano, Cody Serrano and Trenton Oaks; his grandnieces Violet Merrill and his two grandnephews Evan Merrill and Cohen Peterson; He was preceded in death by his parents John Wilder Peterson and Geraldine Lawson Peterson. A Celebration of Life memorial will be held on Dec 14th at the Hyatt Place in downtown Salt Lake City at The Gateway from 1pm to 4pm. For more information contact the family at [email protected]
