Gary Lowell Noren's Obituary
Gary Lowell Noren
1956-2020
A good man is measured by how hard he tries as he deals with the challenges of life. A good man, Gary, died August 5, 2020 at home of natural causes incident to age.
Gary was born in San Mateo, California on April 11, 1956 to Albert Edward Noren and Willa Rose Noren. He married Janice Van Mondfrans on May 20, 1995 -2015 in Provo, Utah. He provided a home and love for his wife, stepson Kale James Batty, and son Jacob Sage Noren.
Gary grew up in San Mateo, California. When he was 16 his parents moved to the Manhattan Beach area of California. Gary chose to stay with his brother Dan to finish high school. He graduated from Piner High School and attended Santa Rosa Junior College, receiving an AS degree and certificate in Machining. While attending college he worked for several companies, using the skills he developed in school, including Hewlett-Packard, Powder River Metal Products, and Klune Industries. While working at Klune Industries Gary took additional courses in manufacturing, engineering graphics, and design technology. He became Klune’s one-man tooling department, where he was looked up to and treasured by his colleagues and co-workers.
Gary also taught courses in his field of expertise at UVSC, UVU, MATC, and Klune as an apprentice instructor.
Gary had his own way of doing things - “he did it his way” - mostly well, but he also made some mistakes. He was willing to take the consequences when he erred.
Gary attended NA and AA where he had numerous service positions and was able to help others as a sponsor and just by being a friend. Some of his closest lifelong friendships were created there.
Gary was proceeded in death by his father Albert Edward Noren. He is survived by his mother Willa (Billie) Rose Noren, son Jacob Sage Noren, stepson Kale James Batty, brother Daniel Alan Noren Sr., nephew Daniel Alan Noren Jr. and his wife Allison Noren and their children Hunter Rael, Sara Noren, and Brooke Noren.
A good man will forever be in our hearts.
