Gary F Richards' Obituary
Staff Sergeant Gary F. Richards
Father, Son, Brother, and Friend. Gary was born in Tooele, UT on February 7th 1952, he
passed away accompanied by his youngest daughter at his side on July 14th 2023.
Accomplishing many feats in his life he had a proud career as a United States Marine.
In his 25 years of service, he received two Purple Hearts as a Veteran for his service during the
Vietnam War and for his outstanding courage & prowess during Operation Desert Storm. He
was a man with a love of reading, woodworking, and a good motorcycle ride along with a love of
hunting & archery.
He is survived by his four children: Amelia R. Malave (Richards), Crystal L. Richards, Joeline F.
Richards (Sortor) and Albert I. Richards, along with his 8 grandchildren, four siblings, and many
nieces and nephews. He is only preceded into death by his oldest family members.
He will be loved and cherished in the hearts of all who will remember him and beyond.
The full Military Honors service will be held August 5th 2023.

Per Gary’s wishes he will be cremated.
A private Internment of ashes will be held by his children will take place at a Veteran’s Memorial
Cemetery, UT at a later date.
