Gary Newell Taft's Obituary
Gary N Taft, 72 died in his home surrounded lovingly by family. He had suffered with multiple illnesses and is now at peace. He was born on August 31, 1949.
Gary graduated high school and then joined the US Air Force. He served from 1970 to 1975.
He married Kathleen Valdez and they had 3 daughters together. They later divorced and he married Yingjin Wang in 2015 and gained another daughter.
Gary loved humanity and served them by showing them unconditional love, grace and mercy. He was a diligent student and went from a successful career as a Pipefitter/Welder and received his Master Degree in Social work. In this work. he mentored many and was influential in turning lives around.
He loved the outdoors and creating wonderful ponds and greenery. He filled his ponds with fish, frogs and toads which bore the names of his beloved grandchildren. He loved Irish Setters and had several in his life. His passion in life was his faith and he studied the Bible and worshiped Jesus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmom, sister, brother and beloved grandson.
Surviving in addition to his wife Yingjin Wang are his daughters, Tessa (Spencer), Keri (Tyler), Amber (Ed), Fenbo Zuo, and nine grandaughters, Rebekah, Briana, Ayesha, Aubrey, Noelle, Madeline, Isabella, Tahlen, Rhylee, and two great grandchildren, Collyn and Theodora, one brother, Dennis Taft and sister Sherry Law (Jason) and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at Premier Funeral Services, 67 E. 8000 So. Midvale, Utah on August 26, 2022. A viewing will be held a 10:30 am, followed by services at 11:30 am. Burial at Camp Williams, Utah Veteran Memorial Park, 2 pm.
We will mourn his presence here with us but we know he is at peace in the presence of God.
