Gaylon Raynard Symes' Obituary
Gaylon Raynard Symes, age eighty-nine, passed away peacefully on Monday May 19, 2025 at home. He was born on April 12, 1936 in Magna Utah to David Ruhel and Affie Minnie Christensen Symes. He was the nineth of eleven children.
Gaylon served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to the Western States Mission and served in the Air National Guard. He had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ all his life and served in many callings.
He retired from the NABISCO Brands Inc. as a salesman for thirty-one years.
He married Carol McGuire, his eternal companion, on February 23, 1960 in the Salt Lake Temple. They recently celebrated their sixty-fifth wedding anniversary.
He is survived by his wife Carol Symes and children Gary (Judy) Symes, Colleen (Ryan) Boam, Barbara (Mike) Jackson, and younger brother Dale Symes, nine grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren with one arriving at the end of the year.
A viewing will be held on Monday June 2, 2025 from 9:30-10:30 am with the funeral starting at 11:00 am at the Shoreline Ridge Ward Chapel located at 300 Iowa, Ogden, UT 84404. Graveside services following the funeral at the Evergreen Memorial Park 100 North Monroe Blvd., Ogden, Utah.
