Dear Mary,

So sorry to hear about Genieve. I didn't know of her passing until today. I would have come to the viewing if I had known in time. I loved Genieve so much and admired her courage. She was always an inspiration to me and to all who knew her. You both taught us all about the true meaning of the pure love of Christ. I always loved coming and reading with her. She had such a great sense of humor and if I mispronounced a word, she would correct me. I'm happy for her to be able to go home to our Father in Heaven. I feel so honored to have known you both. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

Mary,
I learned so much from both you and Genieve. I can still hear Genieve saying "Hola Maria!" when you would get home from work, and how she would "stand tall like a 6 foot soldier." Genieve loved to have her hair washed and liked her lip stick put on! I remember her cute laugh and the way she would laugh so hard it would make her tone kick in and her arm and leg would straighten.
I learned from you both about the amazing love between sisters. Genieve was so lucky to have you, and I know you would say that instead you were the lucky one to have Genieve.
I can't think of Henderson, Nevada or zoology or old Thomas S. Monson conference talks on tape without thinking of Genieve.
You both have touched the lives of so many and I am glad to have been able to associate with you both!

We are serving a mission in the Philippines Baguio Mission. Our daughter, Debbie, saw the obituary for Genieve, and sent us a link to it. We want to express our sympathy; we know that you will miss her greatly. We admire you for the loving care you have given her and your devotion to her. We know that she was a very special sister to you. May God bless and comfort you at this time. We are so grateful for the Gospel and the knowledge that we have of her wonderful reunion with your parents and that we too will have that same opportunity. We love you.
