Geoffrey Franklin Smith's Obituary
Geoffrey Franklin Smith passed away early in the morning of Monday, August 8, 2022, at the age of 79. Geoffrey was born on March 8, 1943, to Geraldine Emma Massion Smith and Franklin Richards Smith in Salt Lake City, Utah. He grew up in Utah, Ohio, and California.
Geoffrey married Karen Marie Gardner on June 26, 1965, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Karen passed away on September 12, 1985, in Kaysville, Utah. Geoffrey married Nita Gayle Blau on June 30, 1990, in Ogden, Utah.
Geoffrey attended Brigham Young University, graduating in 1968 with a Bachelor’s degree in Physics. He worked for the United States Air Force as a physicist for 48 years, retiring in December, 2015.
Geoffrey is preceded in death by his wife Karen, his half-brother Howard, and his parents. He is survived by his wife Nita, his five siblings (Marilyn, Scott, Don, Douglas, and Lorraine), his eleven children and stepchildren (Beth, Michael, David, Laurie, Carol, Jeana, Lawrence, Angela, Lucinda, Benjamin, and Elinor), his twenty-four grandchildren, and his two great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 20 at noon at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 151 N 1000 W Clearfield, UT.
The graveside service will follow on the same day at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
