George Albert Huband's Obituary
George Albert Huband, 67, passed away on July 17, 2021, at the McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah. He was born September 10, 1953, in Ogden. He was the son of Lane and Ruth Huband, the sixth of six children. George grew up in North Ogden and attended Weber County Schools. He graduated from Weber High School in 1971. He was married to Lori Downs and later divorced.
Growing up, George was always interested in mechanics and automobiles. He bought an old 1955 Chevy when he was in high school and with help from one of his friends, replaced the engine and converted the car from an automatic transmission to a four speed. He owned several other cars after that including a Chevy Camaro. After high school, he worked as an auto mechanic for both American Motors and Subaru. He then worked as a jet mechanic at Hill Air Force Base. He later worked as a custodian for the Stop and Shop grocery store in Ogden. George always enjoyed the outdoors including fishing, hiking, and rock collecting.
He is survived by two sisters and one brother, JoDell (Jody) Charlesworth Stevens of Ogden, Connie Sneddon of Heber City, Utah, and Frank Huband of Elk Grove, California. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Lane Huband and Edwin Heber Huband.
Interment will be at the Ben Lomond Cemetery in North Ogden, Utah.
